The best way to get to know someone is through spending time together. And nothing says romance quite like going out on a date. Whether you want something low key or high profile, there are plenty of options for every budget to have a date night in Dallas. If you are preparing for your wedding, we have some great options do reduce your stress while you have a date with your spouse to be.
Date Night in Dallas First Stop: House of Blues
If you’re planning on having friends and family over, House of Blues is where we suggest you start. It’s located downtown at 214 Elm Street in the Cultural District. The atmosphere is casual, but it has comfortable seating and offers live entertainment every evening. They also offer several large rooms for groups, including a private room for up to 50 people.
The food is pretty good, too if you want something other than beer/wine. You can choose from bar foods like nachos, tacos, wings, burgers, etc., or have a plated meal. Prices range from $12-$25 per person, depending on how many courses they serve. If you only want appetizers and drinks, it’ll cost you less than half of what the full-service menu costs.
The fun part about the restaurant? Your guests will think it’s a regular hangout spot!
The House of Blues is a well-known name in various cities; however, Dallas puts its unique stamp on this classic name. With new venues opening all the time in Dallas, there isn’t anything else quite like it in town.
What to do: Start by choosing either appetizers or entrées. Then, go back to the bar to order a drink, preferably a cocktail. Next, head out to the patio area, which overlooks the river walk. Or, try any of the rooms available inside. Each venue has a different feel, and each feels like a home away from home.

Escape Room
The great thing about an escape room for couples is that it will show you a different side of your spouse that you may not have seen. This is a good thing because this is a playful setting where you can experience what your loved one is like under a little bit of light pressure. All in the name of fun. Of course, we wouldn’t recommend trying it without a partner unless you want to end up locked in a room without communication tools (and possibly a phone) for hours. But, don’t worry, if you get stuck, there will be someone able to help you out.
How to play: Escape games are always fun to play together. And even better when you know what is going on. You both will need to work together to solve puzzles and find clues. In addition, you will be expected to make decisions while unaware of the consequences. For instance, when you both realize that you’ve been trapped inside a cupboard for almost 20 minutes, it’s time to go through the door. However, if you decide to stay put and wait for rescue instead of opening the door, then you would be spending time trapped inside a tiny space. Don’t forget to document the entire experience and take pictures.
What to do: Book an escape game for 2 hours or longer. Make sure you have enough time for all the activities involved. Get ready, be prepared and be ready to have some laughs. There are plenty of funny moments during an adventure, and you should expect these. Also, it helps to share a sense of humor. You might even ask your spouse to record the funniest things throughout the escape game.
Finally, remember that you will spend a lot of time outside of the actual room. This means a lot of time standing around waiting for the next activity. While you’re doing this, you need to make sure you’re comfortable and relaxed. Try sitting down if you need to, but stand up as soon as you’re done.
Now, you know what to look forward to on your date nights. These places are perfect for a first date or a second date. Enjoy yourselves and have a great time!

Showcase your bravery with indoor skydiving
Skydive Dallas offers indoor skydiving and indoor BASE jumping courses for those who want to try something different during their next vacation. Indoor skydiving is perfect if you live in Texas because you won’t have to deal with hot summer days, extreme weather conditions, or other outdoor obstacles. You’ll still get to feel the wind blowing through your hair while enjoying a safe and secure flight. Additionally, most indoor skydives take less than an hour and allow you to jump from 100 feet above the ground.
Indoor skydiving isn’t quite what it sounds like. Instead of opening an airplane door and jumping out, you’ll open a sliding glass door and slowly slide down one of three zip lines. There are only a few people per group, so you won’t have to worry about being dropped into the crowd.
The best part? No fear of heights! If you ever wanted to feel like Neo from The Matrix when he jumped off skyscrapers, now is your chance.
Indoor skydiving and indoor base jumping packages start at $230. For more details and to schedule a demo, click here.
