Watch a movie at Belcourt Theater

As much as we love going out to eat (or even cooking at home), sometimes it’s nice to just sit back and watch something entertaining instead. If you want to do some date night eating but don’t want to spend too much money, take in a flick at the historic Belcourt Theatre. Built in 1922, this theater is one of the oldest in Tennessee.

As part of the Historic Hudson-Chillicothe Trail, this location was used for concerts and other events in the past. Today, the theater hosts live performances throughout the year ranging from Broadway plays and musicals to comedy acts and family shows. Tickets range between $12-$28 depending on what show you decide to see.

Enjoy music under the stars

When summer rolls around, the first thing many people think of is having a picnic in the backyard or going to a public park for a little green space. However, if you choose to be outside, you can still enjoy an outdoor concert without worrying about spending a fortune. From June until August, the Hermitage Garden Amphitheater hosts various free concerts every week. It’s located right next door to the famous conservatory. On most nights, you can catch a mix of local musicians and touring bands performing. Check the calendar to find out what is happening when you head over.

Tiptoe through the tulips at Cheekwood

The gardens at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens are truly beautiful, but they aren’t exactly easy for visitors to reach. Located in West End, this botanical garden is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. Although admission is free, parking costs $10 per vehicle. Luckily, the park has two different entrances, so you can avoid paying extra for parking.

The main entrance is located off of Gallatin Pike and leads directly into the gardens. For those who like to walk, the North Entrance allows you to enter the grounds via a paved trail that runs parallel to the main road. Even though it takes longer, this route will save you about 15 cents per mile compared to driving up the long driveway.

Visit the Grand Ole Opry

For many people, the Grand Ole Opry is a must-see stop on their trip to Nashville, but it doesn’t have to break your budget to visit. While tickets are usually sold out months in advance, there are plenty of ways to get access to the Opry House before it sells out. You can either purchase a ticket online or wait until someone buys out the last few seats.

Another option would be to buy a membership. This is an annual subscription that grants you entry to the Opry House any time you need, no matter how busy things may be. Membership packages start at around $250 a year, so make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into before signing up.
