Tiptoe through the tulips at Cheekwood.

The Cheekwood estate and gardens are beautiful and cool spots for nature lovers, but they aren’t easy for visitors to reach. Located in West End, this botanical garden is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. Although admission is free, parking costs $10 per vehicle. Luckily, the park has two different entrances, so you can avoid paying extra for parking.

The main entrance is off Gallatin Pike and leads directly into the gardens. For those who like to walk, the North Entrance allows you to enter the grounds via a paved trail parallel to the main road. Even though it takes longer, this route will save you about 15 cents per mile compared to driving up the long driveway.
